Part sneaker, part sandal, the Nike Air Rift has returned for Summer 2015 in two original colorways for fans of the hybrid running kicks. Originally introduced in 1996 as Nike’s first attempt at a natural motion running shoe, the unique split-toe sneaker/sandal is back for the warmer months in two retro color schemes including Concord/Bright Goldenrod/White/College Orange and Black/Forest/White/Atmo Red.
Named after Kenya’s Rift Valley Province, the Nike Air Rift took inspiration from Kenyan barefoot runners, while mixing in premium materials, textile uppers and excellent cushioning for lightweight support, breathability and comfort. With the wide success of the Nike Free footwear range and current popularity of running in general, it’s no surprise that Nike Sportswear has revived the Rift in present day.
