In honor of this year’s Super Bowl XLIX location, the Nike Desert Journey Collection pays tribute to Arizona’s Salt River Pima Community with a tight line of kicks and clothing to commemorate the big game. Created in collaboration with O’odham tribe member Dwayne Manuel, MFA, who specializes in drawing and graffiti, the southern Arizona Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian community resident designed the collection’s artwork with inspiration from the war shield and whirlwind which reflect the modern competitor’s battle to the top.
Adding premium spins to three Nike cross-training footwear styles plus a matching set of apparel and accessories, the Desert Journey Collection from Nike Sportswear includes the Nike Air Trainer III PRM, Nike Air Trainer Huarache PRM and the Nike Air Vapor Untouchable TR (which is a modified version of the Untouchable cleat), along with a Nike Desert Journey T-Shirt, Destroyer Jacket and hat which all grab design cues from the shoes.
